Hi everyone! My name is Sonia Diaz. I got a degree in Computer Engineering in Venezuela, Universidad Simon Bolivar. I have been working in the It industry for 7 years now. I recently moved to the US because I married an american journalist. I have been working mainly with Microsoft technologies since 1999 and I specialized in web development. I like web development a lot and I am fascinated by the phenomenom of social networks. In my last job I got a position as a Product Manager for a consumer internet portal and I really loved it.

I am trying to get work in the US now, specifically around San Francisco, California. It's been really difficult because of the economy so if anyone have a suggestion they are very welcome.

I wish you all the best for your projects in life.

Hi there companeros. I started my career in Puerto Rico, at about the same time as IBM launched its very first PC. Moved to the US to get an MBA (MIT Sloan). Joined Ford stayed in the US for what were supposed to be 5 years. Sixteen years past the five-year milestone, I am presently Software Product Marketing Manager at Production Scheduling company.

I enjoyed Ford but I wanted the challenge of the ERP world and it's been a very fun ride - maybe not as "fun" as if I had stayed at Ford, but that's another story. I do miss development, specially working with the customers, bringing projects in to spec and conceptualizing solutions. Yes, a geek at heart.

Saludos,

Manuel

I started my career in computer programming and digital electronics in 1982 and it was great to work as TV technician doing broadcasting TV, Audio and Video production and editing. It was really challenging in those days using Tapes and slow recorder machines..........
Now in the Digital world, I use a Mac computer for Video Production to record on DVD and everything is much better quality and faster.
I am so happy with the Technology world with WiFi and USB drives....
I went to TESST Technology College in Alexandria VA. to specialize in computer troubleshooting and networking....

I have over 15 years experience and I am looking for a great opportunity to work in the AV/IT field please let me know if you recommend me a job opportunity.

I started when I was 12 years old with apple 2e computer where I have to use a tape and get the exact frecuency to make it work. I was playing games like chess and others and the I got more familiars wit the the first models of 286 processors. I love to share with others something new that I learn and also learn from others since we are able to learn every minute a different thing as long as we brief and still alive.

I became involved in IT after my lay off from McDonnell Douglas in 1990, I was lucky that re-training was available and I took the chance to change careers from Engineering to IT. I know that the pay is not the same but is not just the money that makes people happy. It is the people you work with.

I became involved in computers by mistake. I was supposed to go to Law School and tripped on a coax cable while entering Legal Briefs into an IBM 360. I read the manual and fixed it and never went to Law School. That was 1977 - pre IBM PC. I worked my way up the ranks and took a package from Chase in 1992 and moved to Florida. I've owned 3 consulting companies and have worked for several companies here in South Florida.
