I started as a sales representative in the pharmaceutical industry. Gained experience and increased roles of responsibility throughout the years in sales and marketing management in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Central America. Became a General Manager for the Venezuelan affiliate of a large trans-national pharmaceutical company where I was stationed for nearly 9 years. Was relocated back into the states 2 years ago and I'm now looking for a new career. My greatest satisfaction was when I was in Venezuela. My team of colleagues were the best. Thanks to them we always met and surpassed corporate sales and profit expectations, but the biggest satisfaction was that the affiliate earned the 1st place as the "Best Place to Work" in Venezuela among all companies evaluated. I thank them for all they did to make our work environment the best while the country was, and still is, going through turmoil. It was like going to an oasis in the middle of all the bad "storms" that were occuring outside. I do hope that everything turns out Ok for them as the Venezuelan people deserve to have a better quality of life than what they are presently living.

Good management is more about being a good leader than what it is to be a boss giving orders. Is more about knowing your people and trusting them, building on their strengths rather than concentrating on their weaknesses. Good management is about people, knowing that they need to be recognized for their work, praised and rewarded justly for their persformance. I am thankful I had a team of professionals that I could work with and learn from. They demonstrated that a good, motivated, team of professionals is always better than a buch of "stars" that are only looking out for themselves, not for the benefit of the team.

Putting ideas into ACTION!

This morning I did research regarding one business idea that I had on Friday, and discarded it. This afternoon I setup and appointment as a next step in the development of another new business idea.

How many new ideas did you put into action today?

Write to me if you have any IDEAS that you want to ruminate.

Hi folks! I'm a Colombian, American resident in Brazil. Tri-cultural. Looking for either a job in business development in Lat Am or an interesting business opportunity introducing new business related software applications, best if hosted (available via the internet). Currently have the means to introduce your product/service in Brazil, one of the region's most stable economies (also one of the hardest to get into.)

Remember: you're not unemployed, you've changed professions, and now your time and your brain are yours to build your dreams. Let's get started building something!
