I am currently a recruiter for the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD) in Fort Worth, Texas. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. to Puerto Rican parents. I graduated from Rutgers University with a M.S.W. and have worked in urban education for the past 15 years. FWISD has a total of 135 schools and 80,000 students. We have a 60% Latino/Hispanic student population and we are constantly seeking highly qualified, passionate, enthusiastic, bilingual professionals.

My mother is my greatest inspiration single parent in foreign land. I would say that San Antonio and Austin are my favorite places to visit in Tx. I recently read the The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao..pretty good.

I hope to bring the best educators that TX has to offer to the students of Fort Worth.

Hello,

My name is César Serrano and I will be relocating in Houston Texas in February/March of 2010.

It is a real pleasure for me to be in this group and I hope to be able to share experiences and do some networking with my fellow members.

Having been born into an Ecuadorian-American family, I speak English and Spanish fluently and have also studied German for many years. My education has been bi-cultural, in the sense that I have attended universities in Ecuador and in the US. I received my B.S. degree in Biological Sciences and Aquaculture from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1991, and completed the course study for the Masters in Health services management at the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil here in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where I currently live.

My work experience has been basically in the areas of aquaculture, health services management, university education, and English-Spanish translation and interpreting. I am currently a full time translator (I occasionally interpret) and work mainly in the area of IT project management. I currently translate all the material (contracts, user manuals, SOWs, BOLs, schedules, etc.) related to the implementation of a contactless ID card system. My areas of expertise are engineering, law, technical material, and science.

I have chosen to relocate in Houston because I understand it is a growing city with a high quality of life. I would like to work in a position that would require my bilingual and management skills.

Thank you.

Hola everybody. My name is Fred Fimbres, born and raised in Arizona, my parents are both from Mexico. My dream career has come to a halt because of Corporate cutbacks, I have been in Medical Sales (diagnostic ultrasound) for the last 14 years. I want to continue in that field, but, the economy and cutbacks has made it hard for everyone including myslef. I am hoping to network with folks in Texas, and see if any opportunities come about in this particular market, and see if there are any USA companies that are looking for a "road warrior" to travel, do business and trade shows in Latin America, and If I can help anyone out here in Arizona, please don't hesitate to contact me.

My parents have been the biggest influence in my life. A Dios gracias por ellos.

My favorite place to visit in Texas, it has to be San Antonio.

Favorite book, any book written by Nelson Demille.

Favorite music: I'll listen to to salsa, merengue, jazz, and of course a good Mariachi.

Welcome to the LatPro network!

LatPro was launched in 1997 to become the very first job board connecting Hispanic & bilingual professionals with recruiters. We still lead the field, consistently ranking among the top Internet job boards. Now you can join our professional network. While this is designed for you to connect with new people who share your interests it's not for soliciting or promoting any business opportunity - please ask for clarification if in doubt.
