I can completely relate. I have been in the corporate world most of my business life. Going to school put a temporary halt to that and I sometimes wonder if, in ways, it didn't hurt me by quitting work. What I am finding out is that you have to truly follow your dreams. Is the corporate world reallllllly what you want or is it what you've always done? If you have other aspirations, now is the time to make it happen. When you get on job search websites, don't put in your previous field. Instead, just use your state or another place you would like to live. You'll be more likely to expand your way of thinking and possibly find something that inspires you. I don't know if I'll get the job I'm going after, but the 1st person liked me because I am certain it's a perfect and what I've always wanted to do. Passion plays such a huge role in success. I seriously don't even care if the pay isn't what I made before, because it's what I realllllly want to do. Apply to everything so you get practice on interviewing, but vary your search so you can find a job that excites you! I hope this didn't sound like preaching, but rather advice from one job seeker to the next :)

Thanks for responding to my comments :) Going to school as an adult is a wonderful thing and something I'm so happy I did. It's not easy, for a number of reasons, but it has given me a sense of confidence that I never had before and possibly a job I have longed for. I go for my second interview on Tuesday....eeek!
Learning Spanish opened up my world and introduced me to people and countries I would have never known. That has been the best part.
What are you studying and do you speak Spanish?

Welcome to the LatPro network!

LatPro was launched in 1997 to become the very first job board connecting Hispanic & bilingual professionals with recruiters. We still lead the field, consistently ranking among the top Internet job boards. Now you can join our professional network. While this is designed for you to connect with new people who share your interests it's not for soliciting or promoting any business opportunity - please ask for clarification if in doubt.
