May I ask, porque Paraguay? tenes familia ahi?, amigos?, novio? ;) A mi me encanta Paraguay, pero trabajo por internet y estan demaciado atrazados en eso lastimosamente. Yo voy a estar en Asuncion for Thanksgiving week. Will you be there?
Yes I used to work at the CCPA. Its a great place to work IMO. I think Juan Carlos Camps is strill the Coordinator. But everyone there is great. I'm sure that if you mention that you contacted me they'll love it! They dont get many international teachers so they'll really like you. My sister worked for them too so they should remember me LOL
You will probably have to take a two week training course on their method if you have never taught before. I didn't stop by your profile before answering your message so I'm not sure what your credentials are. I was not TEFL certified or anything like that when I worked there.
There are also other institutes like Berlitz, The Anglo (My friend Jocelyne will start working there soon too, I can give her your contact if you are interested)
You will need a work permit or temporary residence. I'm not sure if they can do that as it is a pretty big institute in Paraguay with branches all over the country. But I cant help you there. I have Pyan Nationality so I'm ok.
Also if you are interested in teaching middle or high school there are a number of different bi-lingual schools that will be interested in hiring you: SIL, Liberty School, Lumen School, SEK, Internatonal School. Perhaps even the American School, but you must be a certified US teacher ot sth, Im not exacly sure. I've taught at Lumen and Liberty and I know teachers in the other school.
