I was born in New York City (first generation Dominican-American), moved to the Bronx, NY at the age of 12 and then to Westchester county (Yonkers) in my early 20's.

I am a professional, intelligent and talented social worker in NYC. I am fun loving, outgoing and have a very positive and happy outlook on life.

what is your current, past or ideal job title?
Current job is in social work consulting. Previous jobs have included directing a mental health clinic, supervising a child abuse prevention program, and seeing clients for psychotherapy in a private group practice I maintained for 8 years. My ideal job is teaching social work at a college or university for fall 2009, while continuing to do consulting and psychotherapy.

100% Dominican! I love my country.

Its 50/50 between Dominican Republic and Jamaica. I love the culture, music, food and people of both places.

interests and/or hobbies?
I enjoy learning something new everyday. So I listen to motivational speakers, and therapy workshops on cds while I work out daily. I participate in a Reiki healing group every other week. I meditate and am continuously trying to learn more about our souls, past lives, how to improve my intuitive abilities. I am deeply spiritual and enjoy prayer and trying to seek the beauty in our surroundings. I enjoy museums, shows, movies, music/ dancing and good food and of course great company.

Thanks for your advice!! I missed the cutoff for the app process at most schools. I guess I could work on the hours, do you suggest any places that would be good experience volunteering at?
