what is your current, past or ideal job title?
My experience of over 30 years is based in the manufacturing environment where I have acquired diverse and transferable skills. I am recently retired from General Motors Corporation at their Wilmington Assembly facility, where I functioned as The Business Manager in The Paint Department. The roles and responsibilities were broad and diverse in nature. I was responsible for building a quality product, meeting daily production goals and schedule, achieved by directing and managing a team of supervisors, suppliers and engineers that provide support to 90 unionized employees. The responsibilities also require directing support engineering on root cause analysis and corrective action for customer dissatisfiers. In addition my present responsibilities are to evaluate and improve equipment uptime, throughput, quality and safety. My duties also required me to perform as department liaison, interfacing with engineering, suppliers and other departments. For the last 18 months I was also spearheading the introduction of General Motors Global Manufacturing System and the department’s process owner and controller of ISO 9000 / 14001. In the past I also developed and implemented a TIP process, which a cell team based approach to diagnosing build and bottleneck issues.
I feel that my background and work experience in the processes involved in automated manufacturing, coupled with managing over a 90 hourly union work force, and excellent team building skills I would be an immediate asset to any organization.

I was born in Cuba, Grand Parents were from the Basque Region of Spain and my wife is Argentinian.
