The current economic crisis is resulting in more Latinos going back to school. Community colleges around the country are reporting rising admission rates. Unemployment is finding more Latinos studying in their down time because they are returning to the college campuses. As a result Latino student loans are increasing and Latino debt is rising. Education is always a good debt to have as it is an investment in ones future.
Day laborers are the hardest hit in today's economy, with their unemployment rates, nearing 20%! Many Latinos find themselves in this category resulting in new opportunities to continue learning! Being unemployed offers the best time to seek more education and training.
At Ventanabierta.com we're trying to record debt that Latinos have due to going back to school. We want to hear your stories. Are your or someone you know going back to school due to being unemployed? Write me (Octavia@ventanabierta.com) or visit us online (www.ventanabierta.com) to tell us your story.
